Applications

Bravo II

LytArmor Bravo II can be incorporated into a wide variety of ballistic-resistant construction and security applications, including:

  • Ballistic wall systems
  • Safe rooms
  • Security offices
  • Banks and financial institutions
  • Government buildings
  • Courthouses
  • Law enforcement facilities
  • Public safety facilities
  • Guard booths
  • Security enclosures
  • Ballistic partitions
  • Protective counters and desks
  • Fortified structures
  • Vehicle protection

Its combination of high-level ballistic protection, low weight, and thin construction also makes Bravo II an excellent option for retrofit projects where adding excessive weight or wall thickness may not be practical.

Easy to Cut and Fabricate

One of the advantages of LytArmor ballistic panels is their ease of fabrication.

LytArmor Bravo II can be cut using a standard table saw, allowing panels to be sized in the field for project-specific conditions.

Don't want to cut the panels yourself? Action Bullet Resistant can custom-cut your panels prior to shipping.

Simple Mechanical Fastening

LytArmor Bravo II panels can be fastened using standard sheetrock screws, making them easy to incorporate into many wall and protective construction assemblies.

Proper fastening and panel layout are important to ensure the ballistic material remains securely positioned throughout the protected area.

Protecting Panel Seams

Yes, seams between ballistic panels should be protected.

We highly recommend using 6-inch-wide LytArmor ballistic batten strips to overlap panel seams. The overlap helps maintain continuous ballistic protection between adjacent panels and eliminates an otherwise vulnerable line in the protective barrier.

Openings, penetrations, edges, and transitions should also be addressed so the ballistic protection remains continuous throughout the protected area.

LytArmor vs. Fiberglass Ballistic Panels

Traditional fiberglass ballistic panels are manufactured using layers of resin-reinforced fiberglass. They have been used for years in ballistic wall construction and can provide effective protection. However, as ballistic protection levels increase, fiberglass panels can become significantly heavier and thicker.

LytArmor takes a different approach.

LytArmor uses advanced UHMWPE ballistic material to achieve high-level ballistic protection at substantially lower weight.

LytArmor Bravo II weighs approximately 3.68 lb/ft² and is only approximately 0.73 inches thick.

That reduced weight and thickness can make a major difference when designing ballistic walls, safe rooms, guard booths, security enclosures, and retrofit applications. Lighter panels can be easier to handle and fabricate while placing less additional weight on the surrounding structure.

Complete Ballistic Protection

A ballistic panel is only one part of a properly protected space. Doors, windows, glazing, transaction systems, seams, penetrations, and other openings should also be considered when creating a complete ballistic-resistant envelope.

Action Bullet Resistant manufactures complete ballistic systems, including aluminum, steel, and wood ballistic doors; fixed and operable ballistic windows; storefronts; curtain walls; transaction systems; ballistic wall panels; and custom protective systems.

When you're protecting people, every part of the system matters.
