Flexible Ballistic Protection

One of the most important differences between LytArmor Flex II and conventional ballistic wall panels is flexibility.

Traditional ballistic panels are typically rigid. That works well for conventional flat wall construction but can create challenges when ballistic protection needs to follow a radius or fit into a custom assembly.

LytArmor Flex II is engineered specifically for these applications.

Its flexible construction allows ballistic protection to be incorporated into:

  • Curved walls
  • Radius partitions
  • Security desks
  • Reception counters
  • Custom millwork
  • Architectural features
  • Vehicle interiors
  • Protective enclosures
  • Specialty security applications

This allows designers to incorporate ballistic protection into the architecture rather than designing the architecture around a rigid ballistic panel.

Applications

Flex I

The flexibility and lightweight construction of LytArmor Flex I create possibilities that are difficult to achieve with traditional rigid ballistic panels.

Typical applications include:

  • Curved ballistic walls
  • Reception desks
  • Security desks

  • Retrofit ballistic protection
  • Lightweight Ballistic Protection

One of the biggest advantages of LytArmor Flex I is its weight.

At approximately 1.10 pounds per square foot, Flex I can significantly reduce the weight associated with traditional ballistic wall construction.

The lightweight construction also makes the material easier to handle and particularly attractive for vehicles, furniture, millwork, retrofit construction, and other weight-sensitive applications.

Flexible Ballistic Protection

Traditional ballistic wall panels are rigid.

LytArmor Flex I is different.

Flex I can conform to curved construction with a nominal curve radius of approximately 7 inches, allowing ballistic protection to follow the architecture instead of forcing the architecture to accommodate a rigid ballistic panel.

This makes LytArmor Flex I an excellent solution for curved reception desks, security counters, columns, millwork, vehicle interiors, and custom architectural applications.

Stock and Custom Sizes

LytArmor Flex I is available in multiple stock sizes and can also be custom cut to project dimensions prior to shipping.

Custom fabrication can reduce field cutting, simplify installation, and help ensure panels arrive ready for the intended application.
