Backing strips in the same bullet resistant laminate as the fiberglass wall panels, 4 inches wide. A seam between two sheets is a gap in the protection unless it is backed: one strip centred behind every joint keeps the seam rated to the same level as the panel either side of it.
Strips come in all eight UL 752 levels, so each one matches the panel it backs, and in 8′, 9′ and 10′ lengths. Offset the drywall or millwork seams from the panel seams.
